چکیده
Abstract Great attention has been paid to cofacial porphyrins due their many unique advantages over monomeric analogs. However, synthesis is usually complicated. In this work, a facile impregnation method for preparing heterogenized, cofacially stacked proposed. An anionic porphyrin introduced as an underlayer immobilization of cationic cobalt via electrostatic force. The metal center the underlying molecule contributes electronic structure upper porphyrin. Screening reveals iron be most efficient molecule, lowering activation energy barrier CO 2 electroreduction, with improved turnover frequency by 74% 8.0 s −1 at − 0.6 V versus RHE.

The Electroreduction of Carbon Dioxide on Porous Copper Nanoparticles
Copper nanoparticles of porous, controlled structure were synthesized using the sacrificial support method (SSM). The precursor weight percent (wt%) of copper (Cu) and fumed silica (EH-5) was varied to determine the optimum ratio for this material. The precursors were reduced at i) 350°C in a 7% H2 atmosphere and ii) at 250°C in a 100% H2 atmosphere. The specific surface areas of the nanopartic...
متن کاملElectroreduction of CO2 Catalyzed by a Heterogenized Zn–Porphyrin Complex with a Redox-Innocent Metal Center
Transition-metal-based molecular complexes are a class of catalyst materials for electrochemical CO2 reduction to CO that can be rationally designed to deliver high catalytic performance. One common mechanistic feature of these electrocatalysts developed thus far is an electrogenerated reduced metal center associated with catalytic CO2 reduction. Here we report a heterogenized zinc-porphyrin co...
متن کاملPhotocatalytic carbon dioxide reduction with rhodium-based catalysts in solution and heterogenized within metal-organic frameworks.
The first photosensitization of a rhodium-based catalytic system for CO2 reduction is reported, with formate as the sole carbon-containing product. Formate has wide industrial applications and is seen as valuable within fuel cell technologies as well as an interesting H2 -storage compound. Heterogenization of molecular rhodium catalysts is accomplished via the synthesis, post-synthetic linker e...
متن کاملBiomimetic oxygen reduction by cofacial porphyrins at a liquid-liquid interface.
Oxygen reduction catalyzed by cofacial metalloporphyrins at the 1,2-dichlorobenzene-water interface was studied with two lipophilic electron donors of similar driving force, 1,1'-dimethylferrocene (DMFc) and tetrathiafulvalene (TTF). The reaction produces mainly water and some hydrogen peroxide, but the mediator has a significant effect on the selectivity, as DMFc and the porphyrins themselves ...
متن کاملAtomic layer confined vacancies for atomic-level insights into carbon dioxide electroreduction
The role of oxygen vacancies in carbon dioxide electroreduction remains somewhat unclear. Here we construct a model of oxygen vacancies confined in atomic layer, taking the synthetic oxygen-deficient cobalt oxide single-unit-cell layers as an example. Density functional theory calculations demonstrate the main defect is the oxygen(II) vacancy, while X-ray absorption fine structure spectroscopy ...
